Satin bedding is smooth, softly lustrous and pleasantly cool on the skin – which is why most luxury hotels use it. The satin weave leaves long fibres on the surface, so the fabric drapes well and does not pill. We sew our own Royal Comfort bedding in the Czech Republic from mako satin, cotton satin and bamboo satin in dozens of colours. Better value: 1+1 sets and 2+1 sets at 30% off. Patterned satins come from the Swiss brand Christian Fischbacher.

All three share the same satin weave – a smooth surface with a soft sheen. They differ in the fibre they are woven from.
For bedding that looks like a hotel bed and lasts for years, choose mako satin. For sensitive skin and warm nights, bamboo is best.

For Christian Fischbacher, follow the label – most cotton satins can be washed at 60 °C.
Choose a duvet cover set and a fitted sheet in the same shade. The made bed then looks like a hotel bed.
